This was inspired by this:

Which I really like.
It;s called Oversight – Michelle Hamill made it.
I’m thinking of turning it into a physical interface for a mesh-networking device – which is turning into a bit of a thing for me, because…
The last power-cut was a bit of a fright…. I only had a wind-up radio to talk to the rest of the world… and it took about 2 hours to find a radio station that was actually putting out information – and they said that it could last several weeks (was actually another 5 minutes)
Still though. Drama.
If you and the people you need to talk to have access to a mesh network, and reticulum installed, then you’ve got a communications link that does not depend on the grid being up, and which is specifically and deliberately difficult to surveil. It’s not dependent on any kind of permission from anyone. No phone companies, no electricity companies, no local tyrants… no one.
Brought to you by The Tin Can Comms Network – mainly because TTCCN is quite satisfying to say out loud once you’ve figured it out.
Lora-Net Twitter – 16 chrs per message, but encrypted point to point.
It will still be here when everyone else has gone.
